PAPA EVENTS American Legacy--Our National Parks  PAPA's American Legacy exhibition is on view at the Museum of the Southwest, Midland, TX, opening February 13, 2011, and hanging through April 24, 2011. Traveling through 2013 under the auspices of Smith Kramer Exhibition Services, the exhibition opens at the Michele & Donald D'Amour Museum of Fine Arts in Springfield, MA, May 22, 2011. A 92-page color catalog illustrates all the artworks from 35 National Park Service units/artists, including a historical essay by Jean Stern, Executive Director of the Irvine Museum. The Allure of Water PAPA is proud to announce its 2011 exhibition and sale at The Haggin Museum. The Allure of Water brings together more than 100 artworks by 40 Signature and Emeritus PAPA members and Guest Artists. The theme is interpreted in both its physical and spiritual meanings to us all. The exhibition opens with a gala weekend of events on October 15, 2011. Guest artists are Bill Anton, Kathleen Dunphy, Andy Evansen, Gerald Fritzler, Michael Lynch, Jim Morgan and Randall Sexton.  Cosby's 40-by-60 inch painting Treasure Island View (right) was recently installed in the lobby of the Montage Hotel in Laguna Beach, CA. He has been represented by Redfern Gallery, Laguna, and George Stern Gallery in Carmel, CA, which is now called Del Monte Fine Art.

Ken Auster is part of a two-man show at Jones & Terwilliger Galleries, Palm Desert, CA, through February 28, 2011. The exhibit captures moments in time that tell a story of intimate settings in cafes, bars, nightclubs and the daily activities of home, work and play. (Left: I'm the Greatest, oil, 20x16) Raleigh Kinney Exhibitions Kinney will be exhibiting February 18-20, 2011, at the Sonoran Arts League Festival of Fine Art,Cave Creek, AZ. Kinney is also hosting a series of three-day Artist Studio Workshops on watercolor techniques in his Mesa, AZ, studio. OPA Masters Ned Mueller was recently inducted as an Oil Painters of America Master Artist. Mueller joins Kenn Backhaus, Kevin Macpherson and Peter Adams as PAPA OPA Masters.
And the winner is ... Skip Whitcomb won the Artists' Choice Award for his painting Glimpse of Lake Gadsby (left) at the 2011 Coors Western Art Show and Sale. Seascape Demonstration Don Demers is painting from 10 am to 3 pm on March 5, 2011, at the Salmagundi Club, New York, NY. His seascape demonstration painting will be auctioned as a fundraiser for the club. Southern Perspective West Fraser has a solo exhibition, A Southern Perspective, at the Spartanburg Art Museum, SC, March 8 to May 7, 2011.
