My art education began at a very young age and continued through college. Over the course of my career, my painting has evolved from traditional to abstract and nonobjective, and back full-circle to traditional, albeit in a more painterly manner, with an emphasis on plein air. I credit my work on-location as a major turning point in my art career; it opened my eyes to the actual colors and values that nature offers. There is something so very special about witnessing the light and color of a scene and challenging yourself to try to recreate this with oil on canvas. It is a constantly evolving education and I love it. Although landscapes dominate my work I enjoy painting people, animals and still life, as well.
